Please don't wait until just before deer season to apply for membership if your main interest is preparing for the year's hunt. We may not be able to process your membership in time.
    5. Attend New Member Orientation.
Orientation is mandatory. When your application has been processed, you will receive instructions by telephone or e-mail as to the day and time of the next new member orientation. New Member Orientation is usually, but not always, held the Saturday after the second Thursday of each month at 9 AM at the SVRC range.  The orientation lasts 1 1/2 hours and will teach you the safety procedures and physical layout of the range. At the conclusion of your successful completion of the orientation you will receive your badge and permission to use the range.

    General Meetings

Our General Meetings are held the second Thursday of alternate months at the Preston Community Center. This is a great opportunity to meet other club members, make announcements, and learn about events at SVRC. Club officers make their reports, new members make appointments for range orientation, and we occasionally have a presentation by one or more club members on topics of interest, which is to say guns and shooting.

    Board of Directors Meetings

In months when we do not hold a  General Meeting, the Board of Directors gathers at the Preston Community Center to conduct club business. The meeting begins at 7PM and is open to the general membership for observation or if a member has something he or she wishes to discuss with the Board.

    Summer Picnic

Each summer we gather at the range for a day of games, food and fellowship.   The 2008 Summer Picnic will be on August 2nd.

    Holiday Party

Our December Party moves indoors for a potluck feast.
