    Additional Instructions

Bring the completed but not signed application to a board meeting. Bring it along with your driver's license or other valid picture ID and proof of NRA membership (address label from American Rifleman is fine) and sign it in front of a club officer. That person will review your application, take your check, and explain the next step. Seven pm the evening of most board meetings is a good time to do this. The January board meeting is often pretty busy. See below for more information on the meetings.

We are pleased to announce that SVRC now accepts legal residents of the US who are not US Citizens (e.g. - holding a green card or work visa) and who have a permit to own a firearm.

    Membership Renewal

SVRC Membership may be renewed by completing the membship renewal form (click here). Please read and follow the instructions to ensure timely and accurate processing of your renewal paperwork.

    From the SVRC vice president:

Safety. The SVRC Officers and Board are very concerned about safety errors and outright violations. They don't necessarily happen all the time, but they do happen. Even long time members have been spotted making mistakes. We just can't allow someone to get hurt out of neglect, carelessness or ignorance of the rules. The Board has voted to require periodic refresher safety training for all members. How often? We don't know yet. Our new Executive Officer, when we have him in place, will be asked to make a proposal to the board as to how often, and what the content will be. I encourage any member who has ideas on this to drop me a note or send an email to . We will probably have a board meeting partly devoted to member input on this topic.

    General Meetings

Our General and Board Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month starting at 7:00 pm at the Preston Community Center. The General Meeting runs from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The Board Meeting runs from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. During the Board Meeting SVRC Members are welcome to participate but do nto vote.

This is a great opportunity to meet other club members, make announcements, and learn about events at SVRC. Club officers make their reports, new members make appointments for range orientation, and we occasionally have a presentation by one or more club members on topics of interest, which is to say guns and shooting.

    Summer Picnic

Each summer we gather at the range for a day of games, food and fellowship. The date for the 2012 Summer Picnic has not yet been announced. Watch the August calendar for the posting. Public is invited - starting 11 am or earlier if you want to help set up, and please do.
